01 · LIGHT

Start with a switch, a wire and a bulb. Meet NOT, AND, OR and XOR one at a time — each with a puzzle the workshop tests against a real truth table.

02 · BUILD

Gates snap together: outputs feed inputs. Forge your own XOR from scratch, then wire a half adder — the little circuit that taught machines to count.

03 · REMEMBER

Peek inside the gate at the transistor, then cross two NORs into a latch that holds a bit after you let go. That's memory — and the whole secret of computers.

ABOUT

Gatelight is a small teaching game inspired by the kids' books that explain circuits with a battery, a button and a bulb — grown up just enough to reach the real building blocks of a CPU.

No simulator knowledge needed: drag from pin to pin, click switches, and press TEST CIRCUIT to check your build. Ten short circuits take you from "what is a signal?" to one bit of RAM.
